The high-pressure combustor test beds allow technology developments to be tested from their earliest stages through to advanced technological maturity. The test beds are constantly being adapted to meet new requirements. Our infrastructure covers various fuels, such as air, kerosene and special fuels, in order to optimally supply the systems depending on the research topic. The excellent hydrogen infrastructure at the DLR site in Cologne is a unique selling point in the European research infrastructure.

High-Pressure Combustor Test Facility 1 is a fully optically accessible combustion test bedfor the analysis of combustion chambers and burners for aircraft engines and stationary gas turbines.
