Locations and arrival
The Institute of Propulsion Technology has four DLR sites in Germany. Most of the scientific staff are based in Cologne. This is where we operate various compressor and high-pressure combustor test rigs. In Göttingen, the Turbines Department conducts research, and in Berlin, the Engine Acoustics Department analyses the sound effects of engines and new propulsion concepts. At our Trauen site, we offer aeronautical fire protection testing to ensure airworthiness in accordance with international aviation standards.
