The Oberpfaffenhofen site is approximately 25 kilometres west of Munich on the Munich-Lindau motorway (A96). The Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics is located on the site in building 135.There are several ways of getting to DLR:
Arrival by public transport
From Munich Munich Airport take S-Bahn line S8 towards Herrsching. Alternatively, you can also take the S1 line (in the direction of Ostbahnhof), but if you choose this option, please note that you will have to change at the Laim stop to the S8 line towards Herrsching or the S6 line towards Tutzing.
Coming from Munich city centre or central station, take the S-Bahn line S8 towards Herrsching or S6 towards Tutzing. Alternatively, you can take the underground line U6 in the direction of Klinikum Großhadern.
- By Foot: alight at S-Bahn station Neugilching and walk to DLR (2 kilometers).
- Taxi: available from S-Bahn stations Germering-Unterpfaffenhofen (12 km to DLR) and Gilching-Argelsried (3 km to DLR).
- Bus: available from S-Bahn stations Gilching-Argelsried, Neugilching and Weßling as well as from the underground station Klinikum Großhadern (final stop of the U6) – take Bus 947 or X910, alight at DLR.

Arrival by taxi from the airport or Munich
A taxi to DLR will cost approximately 80 euros from the airport (approx. 45 min) or approximately 35 euros from Munich city centre (approx. 30 min).
Arrival by car
Motorway Munich-Lindau A 96; exit 32, Oberpfaffenhofen. Turn left towards Herrsching/Oberpfaffenhofen/Weßling at the motorway exit traffic lights. You will see the turnoff for DLR after approximately 800 metres on your left. See also OpenStreetMap.
Please park your vehicle first in the visitor parking area on the right and then register at reception. You will receive a visitor's pass with which you can enter and leave the grounds independently. Please note that access to the grounds is via the entrance at the end of the visitors' car park, as this is a one-way street. At the end of your visit, your pass will be retained by the card reader at the barrier.
