The Oberpfaffenhofen site is approximately 25 kilometres west of Munich on the Munich-Lindau motorway (A96). The Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics is located on the site in building 135.There are several ways of getting to DLR:
Arrival by public transport from the airport
From Munich city center or Munich Airport, take S-Bahn line S8 towards Herrsching. From Munich Airport you can also take S-Bahn line S1 (towards Ostbahnhof) – in this case, please note that you have to change trains at 'Laim' and take S-Bahn line S8 towards Herrsching.
- By Foot: alight at S-Bahn station 'Neugilching' and walk to DLR (2 kilometers).
- Taxi: available from S-Bahn stations 'Unterpfaffenhofen-Germering' (12 km to DLR) and 'Gilching-Argelsried' (3 km to DLR).
- Bus: available from S-Bahn stations 'Gilching-Argelsried', 'Neugilching' and 'Weßling' – take Bus 942, Bus 952 or Bus 955, alight at 'DLR'.

Arrival by taxi from the airport or Munich
A taxi to DLR will cost approximately 80 euros from the airport (approx. 45 min) or approximately 35 euros from Munich city centre (approx. 30 min).
Arrival by rail
Take the train to Muenchen-Pasing or Muenchen-Hauptbahnhof (Hbf). Then take S-Bahn line S 8 for Herrsching and alight at Neugilching or Wessling station. You can walk to DLR from there (approx. 2.5 kilometres from either station).

Arrival by car
Motorway Munich-Lindau A 96; exit 32, Oberpfaffenhofen. Turn left towards Herrsching/Oberpfaffenhofen/Weßling at the motorway exit traffic lights. You will see the turnoff for DLR after approximately 800 metres on your left. See also OpenStreetMap.
Please park your vehicle first in the visitor parking area on the right and then register at reception. You will receive a visitor's pass with which you can enter and leave the grounds independently. Please note that access to the grounds is via the entrance at the end of the visitors' car park, as this is a one-way street. At the end of your visit, your pass will be retained by the card reader at the barrier.
