Especially in south-east Asia the rapid urbanization causes more and more traffic problems which end in air pollution, noise and generally bad living conditions. The DLR Institute of Transportation Systems is working over 10 years in the field of sustainable transport for (upcoming) Megacities and urban areas generally. Outgoing from China in 2002, several joint projects and EC-projects were conducted and led to an good network with reliable project participants in economy and politics.

Joint projects with China: How can traffic in China's megacities be optimized?
The DLR Institute of Transportation Systems has been active in China since 2002, working on application-oriented mobility projects. Project participants and users are primarily ministries, city governments and downstream institutions such as traffic police and planning authorities. As the conclusion of the GIP2China and OptimUM projects, this film presents the project work and the approach of the scientists in China.
