CMTrain – Condition Monitoring with In-Service Trains

CMTrain means monitoring the condition of the track infrastructure during operation. With this innovative and efficient method, regularly operating rail vehicles are equipped with sensors that make additional measurement trains superfluous.

OSTAR - Efficient authorisation of operating areas

OSTAR turns different simulations into an integrated tool chain. DLR's simulation framework offers local authorities, operators and authorising bodies an innovative solution for the efficient approval of operating areas.

RailSiTe® ETCS testing - efficient solutions for complex railway tests

Traditional field tests in the railway sector take a long time, are complicated and require extensive hardware work. This can significantly delay and increase the cost of developing and validating railway control and safety technology. Our RailSiTe® ETCS testing offers an innovative solution to this problem. Our simulation environment makes it possible to generate functional verifications in the laboratory without having to carry out complex field tests.

SUMO - Simulation of multimodal mobility in urban areas

The open source software SUMO enables the improvement of traffic through realistic simulation using real-time data. The agent-based and multimodal traffic simulation offers high efficiency and scalability, as well as versatile tools and interfaces for flexible solutions, including for the cloud.

Test Bed Lower Saxony: Innovation laboratory for the mobility of the future

The constantly growing number of vehicles on our roads brings with it a multitude of challenges: traffic jams, accidents and environmental pollution are just some of them. Conventional transport systems are reaching their limits and there is an urgent need for innovative solutions to make mobility more efficient, safer and more environmentally friendly. The solution: the Test Bed Lower Saxony as a pioneer for automated and networked mobility.

KeepMoving – Traffic management & public transport operation

KeepMoving is the modular system of the DLR Institute of Transportation Systems, which receives, stores and processes mobility data and provides mobility services based on this data.
