RailSiTe® ETCS testing – efficient solutions for complex railway tests
Traditional field tests in the railway sector take a long time, are complicated and require extensive hardware work. This can significantly delay and increase the cost of developing and validating railway control and safety technology. Our RailSiTe® ETCS testing offers an innovative solution to this problem. Our simulation environment makes it possible to generate functional verifications in the laboratory without having to carry out complex field tests.
RailSiTe® is a hardware-in-the-loop laboratory specialising in functional testing of ETCS components.
Thanks to its modular architecture, it can be customised particularly efficiently to meet specific requirements. The constantly evolving hardware platform enables the laboratory to be reproduced quickly and easily so that the necessary capacities can be made available when required.
The simulation environment simulates ETCS in real time and down to the last bit, and communication is modelled realistically. The laboratory is accredited for ETCS conformity tests in accordance with ISO 17025.
RailSiTe® ETCS testing is used to investigate new technologies for the verification and validation of ETCS and apply them with industry partners. The entire process - from test case creation to the test report - is analysed and further developed.
The laboratory and the associated research results can be used as part of the following services:
- ETCS conformity tests for on-board units (Subset-076)
- ETCS conformity tests of the Specific Transmission Module (STM) (Subset-074)
- ETCS System Compatibility Tests (line and train)
- Conformity tests of national regulations against the ETCS specification
- Coverage analyses of national regulations in relation to ETCS
- Reproduction of faults from real operation in the laboratory for detailed root cause analysis
- Interoperability tests involving line and train (incl. radio block centre, RBC and on-board unit, e.g. via Subset-111)
All services can be provided from the concept phase to the final report, depending on the desired solution.
