Quality management
The Institute of Transportation Systems has been certified in accordance with the quality management standard DIN EN ISO 9001 since 2003.
The quality management system regulates the work processes at the Institute of Transportation Systems. It defines processes, responsibilities and interfaces so that the Institute can operate optimally. This not only increases transparency and process reliability in-house, but also guarantees reliability and quality in co-operation with research participants and customers. In 2003, the Institute's quality management system was successfully certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001 for the first time. The Institute's quality management also takes into account the DLR quality management framework system.
The RailSiTe® railway laboratory is accredited as a test laboratory for the assessment of the technical-functional conformity and interoperability of on-board ETCS units and the technical-functional conformity and interoperability of infrastructure elements in accordance with the EULYNX specification in the railway sector via physical interfaces by simulating specified event chains in accordance with DIN EN ISO 17025.
