Quality management system

A fundamental factor in the Institute's performance and competitiveness is the quality of its research results, products and services. It sets itself the highest standards in terms of research, management and infrastructure.

The institute promotes the expertise and motivation of its employees and improves quality to the satisfaction of its customers and partners by establishing and introducing a quality management system (QMS) in which all employees are actively involved. The institute regularly evaluates the objectives and appropriateness, performance and documentation of the management system and continuously improves its effectiveness.

The Institute of Lightweight Systems has been certified in accordance with the quality management standard DIN EN ISO 9001 since 2014.

Among other things, the institute maintains a static testing laboratory that is accredited by the DAkkS and Nadcap for the field of mechanical-technological testing of plastics in accordance with DIN ISO EN/IEC 17025 and is approved by AIRBUS as a testing laboratory (Attestation of Airbus Testing Authorisation to Proceed) in accordance with the Airbus quality guidelines. This underlines the institute's claim to characterise materials at the highest quality level. In this way, we demonstrate to our customers and research partners the data quality and effectiveness of our organisation.
