The SMiLE Control Center for Robotic Tele-Healthcare Assistance

The SMiLE Control Center for Robotic Tele-Healthcare Assistance
The Smile ecosystem for robotic healthcare assistance involves different robotic systems such as the humanoid robot Justin and the wheelchair robot EDAN.
The robots can work autonomously but also be controlled by humans from remote or locally for example via a tablet interface.
To supervise the robots and extend their capabilities, a control centre was developed from which a communication to the SMiLE robots can be established.
From this centralised control centre, a tele-healthcare assistant can precisely control the robots distributed over Bavaria with the haptic interaction device HUG.
