In Nohra, the two VITAL procedures were implemented for the first time at a completely non-urban junction in a rural area. The junction is located between the village of Nohra and the A4 motorway junction of the same name. Classic induction loops were largely installed for vehicle detection. In contrast to all other test sites, the maximum permitted speed is above 50 km/h. In addition, the proportion of heavy goods vehicles is higher in this area, as there is an industrial estate in the vicinity. Under these conditions, test runs for the loss-time-based and the co-operative method were carried out in real traffic with positive results. The two VITAL methods are available here for further test runs and investigations if required.
