In the future, not only will there be more automated and connected vehicles on the roads, but services and mobility offerings will also change. The DLR Institute of Transportation Systems is developing new solutions for future transport that will be safer and more efficient than today. The institute also conducts research in the areas of rail transport and local public transport. Specifically, this involves, for example, autonomous shuttles, digital stops, dynamic winging and railway automation. The focus here is on people who want to flexibly adapt mobility services to their needs. And the operators of mobility services are also supported by new concepts that are user-centred but do not lose sight of cost efficiency.
