New concepts for communication, navigation and surveillance in air traffic
Today's civil aviation is a rapidly growing market. This results in an increasing density of air traffic, which still mainly relies on analog communication and GNSS for navigation purposes. To enable future air traffic management, DLR is developing new concepts for communication, navigation and surveillance (CNS). The integration of CNS services is an important goal in order to improve the efficiency of frequency utilization and increase reliability. The aim is to achieve optimum separation between aircraft while maintaining safety at the current level or even higher.
