Funding Programmes
Federal and state ministries regularly announce funding programmes for the aviation sector. These programmes are intended to motivate companies, universities and research institutions to support the German government's aviation strategy. In this context, the Project Management Organisation for Aeronautics Research acts as an administrative assistant, bundling and coordinating the calls for proposals.
Researchers who have worked in this field repeatedly confirm that aviation is very specialised. The multitude of regulations for the approval process, the length of development times and the structure of the supply chains, for example, are hardly comparable with other industries. At the same time, the sector faces major challenges, such as ensuring the safety of the population and reducing the ecological footprint.
