DLR scientist Lars Weyh was awarded the TU Ilmenau's mechanical engineering prize for his thesis "Simulation and measurement of natural frequencies and the vibration behaviour of electric traction drives". The prize honours outstanding student achievements that make relevant contributions to the development of teaching and science in the fields of mechanical engineering and precision engineering.
The thesis was written at the Institute of Vehicle Concepts under the supervision of Dipl.-Ing. Christian Wachter. On the part of the TU Ilmenau, the thesis was supervised by Prof. Zentner and Dr Griebel from the "Mechanics of Compliant Systems" department.
