Ilmenau Branch

The DLR Institute of Vehicle Concepts set up the Ilmenau branch in 2016, initially with one employee. Since then, the team in the premises of the Thuringian Innovation Center Mobility (ThIMo 2) in Ilmenau has grown continuously to six employees and also includes self-developed and constructed test benches for traction drives. The research focuses on innovative drives for road and rail vehicles, from the design of the machines to the construction and measurement of demonstrators
