TT&C-Service
The Telemetry, Tracking and Control (TT&C) subsystem of a satellite establishes the interface between the ground segment and the satellite. The important role of the satellite ground station is to set up the communication channel linking the ground with the satellite in space. TT&C is a key component for operating a satellite. It is used to monitor the status of the satellite and to command the payload instruments. The TT&C link controls the satellite, so to speak.
DLR commands and controls satellites with its TT&C service. The service is primarily provided by DLR’s German Space Operations Center (GSOC), with the GARS O’Higgins ground station assisting GSOC by establishing the communication link to the satellite.
