TRIQUETRA
Cultural heritage (CH) is about all tangible and intangible aspects of society and culture. Our CH sites can be exposed to extremely unfavourable external conditions, which are becoming more pronounced, especially in the context of climate change. Understanding these challenges and how to address them is important, if these sites are to be preserved and passed on to future generations.
TRIQUETRA ("Toolbox for assessing and mitigating Climate Change risks and natural hazards threatening cultural heritage - in Horizon Europe CL2-2022-HERITAGE-01-08) assembles a technological toolbox, proposing a methodological framework efficiently adaptable to environmental and climate hazards threatening CH sites.
At EOC, the exposure of selected CH sites in Europe to flood, drought, snow cover, water eutrophication, proliferation of invasive species, and coastal erosion is identified from Earth observation data as part of the TRIQUETRA toolkit.
