DLR IMF is leading the ESA project for developing the Sentinel-4 (S4) Level 2 operational Copernicus products (L2OP).

The main objective of CCN#14 is to adapt the retrieval algorithms and L2OP processors with the S4 instrument on-ground characterization data being measured at RAL in UK.

Sentinel-4 will be the first geostationary spectrometer providing hourly air-quality measurements over Europe. It will be launched in Q4, 2024 onboard the MTG-S1 satellite.
