The EURAMET project “Primary spectrometric thermometry for gases” is led by PTB and consists of national metrology institutes and other institutions. The goal is to establish procedures to measure the temperature of gases with spectroscopic methods. This requires high accuracy line intensity data since the temperature dependence of relative intensities (see Figure) will be used to determine the gas temperature. DLR has applied this method already in order to determine the average gas temperature in gas cells. Furthermore, DLR has already measured high accuracy intensity data in the frame of an ESA-funded project which can be utilized in the current project. Due to the experience of DLR it will also act as consultant for the team.
