iFOODis
The project "Improving the sustainability of food cycles through intelligent (robotic) systems" (iFOODis) contributes to the improvement of sustainable food production by establishing an intelligent robotic monitoring network for the continuous assessment of the state of terrestrial and surface water ecosystems in relation to agricultural activities.
To achieve this goal, iFOODis is developing and applying both satellite-based remote sensing methods and robotic and sensor networks in the air, on the ground and in the water. The first application of the iFOODis network is planned for the Schlei region (Baltic Sea, Germany). Another focus is the remote-controlled transport of food and material in flooded, rugged and difficult-to-access regions.
At DFD/ZKI, the results of the project partners are visualised for users and stakeholders in a complex situation picture. In addition to the project results, further information, e.g. freely available land use classifications, can be integrated.
