This DLR impulse project deals with the compilation of consistent emission inventories of gas and particles for the transportation sector, the energy production and related sectors for 2019. The inventories will be made available to both DLR internal as well as to external users and compatible to other inventories generated to support the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC).
A large uncertainty of current inventories arises from the spatial distribution of traffic emissions in developing countries. MF-PBA and MF-DAS contribute to an improved distribution model by deriving spatial and settlement structure data as well as estimated traffic parameters from drone, aerial, and satellite imagery.
