Workshop for Bavarian Public Authorities – Earth Observation for Climate Adaptation
On October 15-16, the "Workshop for Bavarian Public Authorities – Earth Observation for Climate Adaptation" will take place at DLR in Oberpfaffenhofen. Public authorities are being confronted with the task of making the economy and society in general more resilient to climate change. Heat waves, drought and heavy rains are already today a problem for the agricultural, forest and energy sectors of the economy as well as for city administrations. The workshop will bring public authorities and scientists together to jointly explore how earth observation can assist in meeting this challenge.
Earth observation is ideally suited to planning and monitoring the relevant measures. The resulting data can also be analyzed and incorporated into models for developing scenarios and prognoses. In addition to addressing the topics of agriculture, forestry and urban spaces, attention is also paid to the cross-sector topics of biodiversity, georisks and health.
