Visitors from Cameroon at EOC
On October 26, 2026 the Lamido of Rey-Bouba in the Central African country of Cameroon, Abdoulaye S.M. Aboubakary, accompanied by a delegation paid a visit to the Earth Observation Center (EOC) to obtain information about the potential of remote sensing for environmental protection.
Abdoulaye S.M. Aboubakary is the most important tribal chieftain in northern Cameroon as well as the vice president of the Cameroon Senate. Among others, the delegation included Dr Valentin Katzer, a consultant at the German consulate in Yaoundé, the capital of Cameroon, and a representative of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ). Abdoulaye S.M. Aboubakary was informed about the possibilities earth observation offers for monitoring and managing a national park. The transboundary National Park BSB Yamoussa is in the jurisdiction of the Lamido.
