On 28 June 2019 the EAGLE Summer Dialogue took place for the third time at the Chair of Remote Sensing at the University of Würzburg. The EAGLE Msc. Program is an international course of studies for applied remote sensing at the University of Würzburg. The program was launched in 2016 in cooperation with the Earth Observation Center (EOC) of the German Aerospace Center (DLR).

This year's EAGLE Summer Dialogue started with a keynote lecture on "Environmental Monitoring". Sandra Lohberger from "Remote Sensing Solutions GmbH (RSS)" in Munich presented the company's remote sensing work and described her personal career to the students. The second impulse lecture was held by Alfred Schumm, Head of "Innovation, Sciences, Technologies & Solutions" at the WWF. In his contribution "Transparency at Sea - examples of the management of public goods", the biologist used the MSC seal of approval to show the options for action of a non-governmental organisation.

A total of more than 70 guests attended: Students from the various years of the EAGLE programme, staff and alumni of the Remote Sensing Chair, staff of the University of Würzburg, DLR, representatives of remote sensing companies and non-governmental organisations. In addition to Prof. Stefan Dech, Chair Holder and Director of DFD, and Prof. Claudia Künzer, newly appointed Professor of Remote Sensing for Land Surface Dynamics and Head of Department at DFD, Prof. Roland Baumhauer, Dean of the Faculty of Philosophy, as well as professors from other departments such as Biology, were also present.

The event was organized by the EAGLE students themselves. The committee around Malin Fischer, Magdalena Halbgewachs, Yomna Eid and Jakob Rieser provided a very successful program with music, drinks and vegetarian grill buffet.
