German Federal Chancellor Angela Merkel and Brandenburg‘s Premier Matthias Platzeck inform themselves about the TanDEM-X mission with the help of an EOC exhibit.
The Berlin Air Show ILA 2012 is over; 1 243 exhibitors from 46 countries displayed their products and services to 230,000 visitors, both specialists and the general public. EOC was also present. In the Space Pavilion the German chancellor was informed about the TanDEM-X Mission at the EOC exhibit.
Under the motto Space for Earth, DLR, ESA and the German space industry presented the most important European and German space programs and projects in the Space Pavillion EOC used several exhibits to demonstrate the performance of earth observation satellites in general and the German TerraSAR-X and TanDEM-X radar missions in particular
ILA – Terrain model projection surface
This projection surface model of Alpine terrain was developped by DFD
A physical terrain model of the Alps was used as a projection surface for animations developed specifically for the exhibit about five remote sensing topics.
