Agricultural Measurement Network

Financed by the European Union Structural Fund as part of the LEADER+ Initiative

Since December 2004, 15 measurement stations have been in operation at the long-term test site DEMMIN. These sensors, placed at various locations in the fields of the IG Demmin interest group, make it possible to collect meteorological data in support of effective in-field management.

The following types of data are collected: precipitation, air temperature and humidity, leaf moisture, wind speed and direction, ground temperature and moisture at various depths, short- and long-wave radiation and emission, and air pressure.

The data are used:

  • To support the development of innovative remote sensing data products (for example, for agricultural risk management)
  • To validate remote sensing data products (for example, evapotranspiration)
