Ongoing projects involving the National Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems

AREA U-Space

Since January 2023, the German Aerospace Center has been building a U-Space real laboratory at the DLR site in Cochstedt which is to be set up internally at DLR by December 2026.

Drones4Good

In the two-year DLR research project, the safe dropping of aid supplies from UAS is to be trialled. To this end, AI technology will assess whether the drop site is free of people before the aid delivery is dropped.

In addition, the National Experimental Test Center for Unmanned Aircraft Systems is currently involved in the following DLR projects: ADMIRe, SainSOR, MaRPAS, ULMOST, morphAIR, ALAADy.

HorizonUAM

The HorizonUAM project aims to provide initial answers to the vision of urban air transport. The focus is on aspects such as vehicles, infrastructure, operation and acceptance.
