EO4CAM-Workshop – Research Encounters Practice

On October 15 and 16 over 40 participants from Bavarian ministries, state authorities and municipalities were invited to EOC. In the context of a "Workshop for Government Representatives" – Earth Observation for Climate Adaptation" they discussed concrete applications for remote sensing in measures to adapt to climate change.

The event was organized by scientists from DFD and the Earth Observation Research Cluster (EORC) at Würzburg University. In the EO4CAM project (Earth Observation Laboratory for Climate Adaptation and Mitigation) they are developing earth observation based information products, analyses and scenarios for defining and monitoring climate adaptation measures for the urban environment, agriculture, and plantation forestry, in addition to the cross-sector topics of biodiversity, georisks and health.

The project results will be made available to all interested parties via an expressly developed data portal. Periodical workshops with future users will assure that the products are regularly tailored to meet the requirements arising from practical use.

The project is financially supported by the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy.
