German Space Agency at DLR

The German Space Agency at DLR (formerly DLR Space Administration) acts as Germany’s space agency and, in this capacity, implements the Federal Government’s space strategy. It has approximately 350 employees and is based in Bonn.

The German Space Agency at DLR coordinates German space activities at national and European levels and represents German space interests worldwide on behalf of the Federal Government. Its tasks include the planning and implementation of the national space programme and the management of Germany’s contributions to the European Space Agency (ESA) and the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT).
