New institute management at the DLR Institute of Test and Simulation for Gas Turbines
Starting from January 1st, 2024 Sabine Ardey has been appointed Director of the DLR Institute of Test and Simulation for Gas Turbines in Augsburg. She follows the founding director Prof. Dr.-Ing. Stefan Reh, who has successfully built up the institute over the past 7 years. Prof. Reh will remain at the institute as deputy director and head of the department "Virtual Engine and Numerical Methods" and will support his successor for a smooth transition.
The handover ceremony took place on January 17th, 2024 at the institute in Augsburg. The Divisional Board Member for Aeronautics Markus Fischer and the Head of the Sitemanagement Oberpfaffenhofen, Augsburg and Weilheim Zekeriya Ceyhanli thanked Prof. Reh for his excellent development work and wished the DLR Institute and its employees continuing success under the new management. With the "formal handover of the keys", Prof. Reh symbolically passed on th responsibility for the management of the institute to Prof. Ardey to great applause.
"This is a special DLR institute with a great team and exciting tasks. I am really looking forward to immersing myself in the many topics and further expanding the contacts with industry and research partners," says Sabine Ardey.
The employees of the DLR Institute celebrated their former director, Prof. Reh, with numerous gifts, witty speeches and much applause. It is an excellent outlook that Prof. Reh will continue to help shape the future of the institute he has built up.
