Area Information Technology
The main focus of the department Information Technology, besides the maintenance and administration of the institute's IT-infrastructure, is the processing of data produced by simulations and experiments. The data acquisition shall take place along the value chain and gather as well as connect all data and meta-data event-drivenly. The data management system faces the challenge to administrate large sets of data consisting of highly heterogeneous types of data. Still the data management system has to be capable to provide all the data for accessing and analysis in real time. To call up, combine and superimpose the data, there has to be a layer to connect certain sets of data.
Various learning algorithms (e.g. Bayes Methods) are used for analysis to better visualize trends. Further the information shall be visualized, via projection onto the probe or the component geometry, three-dimensionally and interactively (e.g. Augmented Reality).
The aim is to connect simulation and experiment such that data can be exchanged between virtual and real experiment in real time to perform validation during a running experiment.
