Together with industrial partners, DLR is developing measurement and test procedures for the qualification of components and systems of solar thermal power plants.

The procedures are used to precisely record and evaluate the performance and ageing resistance of components and systems.

The researchers use the test facilities and test benches of the QUARZ® test and qualification centre at the DLR site in Cologne and at CIEMAT's Plataforma Solar de Almería.

We offer the developed methods as measurement services. We also support companies in the development of new components. Our customers are project development companies, component manufacturers and power plant operators.
