Projects

The Institute of Atmospheric Physics has a leading and integrating role within DLR in all matters relating to the atmosphere and climate. It leads or participates in many DLR and Helmholtz Association of German Research Centres projects, often in collaboration with many other DLR institutes in the Space, Aeronautics, Transport and Energy programmes.

In addition to internally funded work, the Institute has been very successful in attracting third-party funding from sources such as the EU, ESA, UNEP, various ministries, the German Science Foundation and industry. IPA leads or has led a significant number of large national and international research projects.
