To support the development of future scientists, the Institute of Atmospheric Physics offers positions for interns and diploma and doctoral candidates.

Internships

Applications can be sent throughout the year. It should be kept in mind that:

  • internships should be at least four weeks in duration;
  • training is on-the-job in current projects
  • your application should include the dates of your availability, relevant education, training or experience, and your area of interest.

We will then advise you whether we are able to schedule an internship for you, or if you are on our waiting list.

Bachelor and Master Theses

In order to assure optimal supervision, the specific topic should complement current IPA research activities. Appropriate branches of study are primarily in engineering and the natural sciences.

Doctoral Candidates

A limited number of scholarships are available to doctoral candidates under the DLR guidelines for promoting doctorates.

DLR-DAAD Fel­low­ships

International doctoral and postdoctoral students may apply for fellowships: The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and the German Academic Exchange Service (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst; DAAD) are recruiting more international researchers and scientists for Germany. For this reason, the two organisations have set up the joint "DLR-DAAD Research Fellowships" programme.
