Doctoral students receive a high level of supervision and support at the DLR institutes. In addition, DLR offers its approximately 800 doctoral candidates a very special service: the DLR_Graduate_Programme is a high-quality qualification and support programme designed specifically for doctoral candidates at DLR. The three-year voluntary programme teaches doctoral students key interdisciplinary skills - from project management, scientific publishing and presentation skills to third-party funding acquisition and other important core competencies. The knowledge and skills can be utilised efficiently during the doctoral phase and should also help with further career planning.
The doctoral phase can be followed by further career steps such as leading junior research groups at DLR institutes or postings abroad. Mentoring programmes and talent development measures are also offered at DLR.
