Climate Test Facility

The climate test simulates environmental influences on a test object under ambient pressures. One feature of this is the variability of the temperature and humidity over time. This is an important part of operational tests for electronics but also for mechanical elements, as it ensures that the flight hardware is also capable of withstanding extreme environmental conditions on Earth. The scope of the laboratory also includes the conditioning of test objects, the sterilisation of space components (Dry heat microbial reduction; DHMR) for interplanetary missions, as well as the qualification of applications for use on Earth.

The climate laboratory is accredited as a testing laboratory in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025:2005 and fulfils the clean room requirements of ISO-8 in accordance with Standard ISO 14644-1.
