F-SAR

F-SAR

The large-scale airborne synthetic-aperture radar (SAR) facility, referred to as F-SAR, is the successor to the institute's own E-SAR system, which enjoys an excellent reputation worldwide. Like E-SAR, F-SAR is used, among other things, to create pioneering studies for future satellite missions (such as TerraSAR-X). F-SAR is a completely new development that utilises state-of-the-art hardware and - as far as possible - consists of standard industrial components. F-SAR will operate fully polarimetrically in the X-, C-, S-, L- and P-bands: quasi-simultaneously in four recording channels.
