Delegation from Fukushima visits Jülich

Presentation at Synlight
The business delegation from Fukushima was warmly welcomed at Synlight and introduced by Christian Sattler and Bernhard Hoffschmidt to the research topics of the Institute of Future Fuels and the Brainergy Park Jülich, which is currently under construction.
  • A Japanese business delegation visited us at the Jülich site.
  • The talks focussed on the synergy potential between companies in the Fukushima region, DLR and the Brainergy Park Jülich, which is currently under construction.
  • Guided tours of the large-scale research facilities Synlight and Solar Towers Jülich provided the framework.

A Japanese delegation visited us in Jülich as part of the ongoing and positive exchange with Japanese research institutions and commercial enterprises. Our guests, consisting of government representatives from Fukushima Prefectural Government, the EnergyAgency.FUKUSHIMA, Aizu Computer Science Laboratories Inc., Miura Co Ltd., FUMIN Co Ltd., Ashita no Kuni Inc, NRW.Energy4Climate, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Action and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and the JETRO Japan External Trade Organization were welcomed by Prof. Dr. Christian Sattler and the Director of the Institute of Solar Research, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Bernhard Hoffschmidt, and given a tour of the Synlight and the solar towers.

Brainergy Park Jülich as a think tank

In addition to the presentation of our research and the company profiles, the discussions focussed on the synergy potential between companies in the Fukushima region, the prefectural government and DLR. In particular, the BrainergyPark Jülich, which is currently under construction, can provide an excellent infrastructure and innovative basis for future start-ups, relocations and international knowledge transfer.

The delegation had already attended this year's E-world energy & water trade fair in Essen a few days earlier. There, Nathalie Monnerie gave a presentation at the "Fukushima & NRW Renewable Energy Seminar & Networking" on the topic of "Hydrogen at DLR - A European Partner for Japan".

We would like to thank you once again for the very pleasant day and productive dialogue. The dialogue was made possible by NRW.Energy4Climate and the JETRO Japan External Trade Organization, among others.

We look forward to further meetings, an exciting dialogue and possible collaboration!
