Ulrike Bäumer, IT Service Manager, plays a pivotal role in making DLR possible. Through her work in IT security, she ensures the availability and reliability of our central IT infrastructure. Ulrike designs and supports DLR-wide IT security services so that DLR employees can focus on their work rather than IT concerns. Ulrike enjoys working on a variety of tasks and, in view of the many opportunities to balance work and family life, Ulrike proudly states: "You couldn't pry DLR and me apart!"

Astrid Schöps, part of Facility Management, is another key contributor to DLR’s research and development environment. As an architect, she advises and supports colleagues on Structural Fire Protection and the Outdoor Facilities of Technical Infrastructure. She is also serves as the contact person for major investment projects and holds the role of Deputy Head of DLR's technical area representatives. But beyond her valuable contributions to DLR, Astrid sums up her experience by expressing: "What I particularly appreciate about my work is the high degree of freedom in combination with teamwork."
