HyImpulse Technologies GmbH is an aerospace company based in Neuenstadt am Kocher, in the south of Germany. It was founded in March 2018 and is a privately financed spin-off from the German Aerospace Center (DLR), Institute of Space Propulsion, in Lampoldshausen. The company develops special suborbital and orbital launch services using launch vehicles with hybrid propulsion.

HyImpulse has more than 15 years of experience in hybrid propulsion development with more than 100 tests and the last successful test series of the 75 kN flight rocket engine in 2020 and 2021 (TRL 7). The engine has been continuously tested and improved since 2020.

The products:

  • SR75 is a single-stage sounding rocket that uses a hybrid engine to deliver institutional and commercial experiments to a low-gravity environment during suborbital flight. It will be able to carry up to 350 kg of payload to an altitude of 200 km.
  • Small Launcher 1 (SL1) is a launch vehicle that provides affordable, frequent, responsive and safe access to space for small satellites. It has a payload capacity of 500 kg to an SSO 400 km away / 675 kg to LEO and targets the rapidly growing small satellite launch market.
