Vinci Assembly, Integration and Test AIT

Transfer of production of the Vinci engine

The production, integration and testing (Assembly, Integration, Test: AIT) of ArianeGroup's Vinci upper stage engine is to be transferred from ArianeGroup Vernon to ArianeGroup in Lampoldshausen and the engines will then be tested on the P4.1 high-altitude simulation test stand at DLR in Lampoldshausen and qualified for flight on Ariane 6.

The Ariane 6 upper stage engine Vinci is assembled by ArianeGroup in Lampoldshausen, integrated on the high-altitude simulation test stand P4.1 and prepared for flight acceptance. At the same time, the P4.1 test stand is being prepared for the tests. The DLR Institute of Space Propulsion is responsible for carrying out the test campaign. By optimizing the production and integration processes, up to 15 Vinci flight acceptances per year will be possible.
