Spraying

Flow, spraying and injection
Advanced liquid propellants are studied in detail with regard to their rheological (flow) behavior, their spraying behavior and their combustion properties.

Advanced liquid propellants are being investigated in detail with regard to their rheological (flow) behavior, their spray behavior and their combustion properties. Various spraying concepts (different injector types and geometries) are investigated with regard to their suitability using optical measurement techniques in order to develop suitable propellant preparation methods for different fuel types.

In the research and development work for an effective combustion chamber process, the propellants are characterized with regard to combustion and heat development within the combustion chamber. Experimental results are also used to develop and test semi-empirical models for the assessment and design of engines.
