The DLR Scientific Information support unit comprises the DLR Library, Research Data Management and the Central Archive.

The Scientific Information support unit is responsible for providing DLR with information for science and administration, for managing and archiving research data, and for archiving historical documents and DLR's historical knowledge. The unit comprises the Library, Research Data Management and the DLR Central Archive. The Library is the internal information provider for DLR staff. Research Data Management supports DLR staff in the management and administration of research data. The Central Archive is aimed to a large extent at serving interested external parties.

DLR Library

The DLR Library is a specialised scientific library and internal service provider for DLR. As part of the research process, it provides DLR with scientific and general information of all kinds.

Research Data Management

Research Data Management (RDM) is a central component of data-intensive research. The RDM team provides DLR researchers with appropriate tools and services to help them with both organisational and technical tasks.

DLR Central Archive

The Central Archive of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) documents DLR’s historical knowledge and preserves it for the future.

Publications

DLR publication server – 'elib'

DLR's 'elib' repository contains all of the organisation's scientific / technical publications, some with full text. The systematic and complete collection of data began in 1990.
