The research infrastructure of the Institute of Materials Research consists of a wide variety of (large-scale) systems for the production, analysis, coating, characterization and testing of materials. They make it possible to carry out research in the areas of aerospace, energy, transport, security and digitalisation. The systems are used across institutions. In addition, the DLR makes some of the systems and its know-how available to national and international partners from research and industry.
