Airbrake
The DLR Institute of Composite Structures and Adaptive Systems has developed a new fibre-composite and adhesive-compatible construction method based on the example component of the Eurofighter’s airbrake. Together with partners Airbus Defence and Space and the Bundeswehr (Federal Armed Forces) Research Institute for Materials, Fuels and Lubricants, new technologies for manufacturing such as CFRP infusion and bonding as well as 3D printing of load transfer components have been investigated for this purpose.
