Testing new assistance functions with the research vehicle VIEWCar II
VIEWCar II: research vehicle to analyse perceptual processes and behaviour.

VIEWCar II – interior
The research vehicle is suited for studying human-vehicle interaction due to the in-built camera technology.
The DLR Institute of Transportation Systems has a research vehicle – a VW Passat GTE Plug-In Hybrid – for the testing of new assistance functions for highly automated driving with driver observation and vision recognition systems. Depending on the area under investigation, the vehicle can be used either on public roads or on private test routes. Due to its in-built camera technology, the research vehicle can also be used to study human-vehicle interaction.
