The DLR Institute of Maritime Energy Systems researches and develops innovative solutions for defossilisation, emission reduction and the increased use of renewable energies in the maritime sector.
The institute has seven scientific departments ranging from maritime research facilities to ship performance and virtual ships, as well as an administrative management.
DLR's main site is located in Geesthacht. DLR is also establishing additional laboratories and offices in Kiel.
