DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine mourns the loss of Professor Ralf Möller
The German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine mourn the loss of Professor Ralf Möller, who passed away on 6 July 2024 at the age of 46 after a serious illness.
Ralf Möller headed the Aerospace Microbiology working group and was involved in the radiation reaction of microorganisms and research into the human microbiome, biofilm formation, antimicrobial materials and decontamination approaches. His extensive knowledge and, above all, his enthusiasm for his subject made him a unique and inspiring, highly esteemed colleague who, with his curiosity and creativity, established scientific and personal contacts far beyond Germany and made a lasting impression on people for science.
Ralf Möller was an outstanding scientist, an empathetic mentor and a special person who will be greatly missed. Our thoughts are with him and his family.
