Due to his outstanding achievements in the field of hypertension research, Prof. Dr. Jens Jordan, Director of the DLR Institute of Aerospace Medicine, has now received the Franz Gross Science Award from the German Hypertension League and the German Hypertension Foundation. During the 47th annual congress, various scientific prizes were awarded, with which the German Hypertension League honors outstanding scientific work in hypertension research and thus supports innovations and the transfer of knowledge to improve the care of patients with high blood pressure.
Jens Jordan received the Franz Gross Science Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution to hypertension research. In particular, his top-class research work in the field of regulation of the autonomic nervous system and the associated blood pressure regulation was honored. The subject of hypertension has occupied the internist and clinical pharmacologist Jens Jordan for more than 20 years, both scientifically and clinically. Among other things, he has researched various aspects of the metabolism in hypertension, in particular special mechanisms in connection with obesity, and has been involved in the development of new options for the treatment of therapy-resistant hypertension.
