DLR and ArianeGroup extend framework cooperation

The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and ArianeGroup GmbH extended their framework cooperation on 5 June 2024 at the International Aerospace Exhibition, ILA Berlin. Anke Kaysser-Pyzalla, Chair of the DLR Executive Board, and Karsten Lemmer, Executive Board Member for Innovation, Transfer and Research Infrastructure, signed the agreement with Pierre Godart, CEO of ArianeGroup, and Gerald Hagemann, Vice President and Head Site Manager Ottobrunn/Taufkirchen at ArianeGroup. The framework agreement between DLR and ArianeGroup has been in place since December 2017, bundling together the research and development work of the two players and aligning them towards shared goals.
In line with current developments in the launcher market, the focus of the cooperation is on joint contributions to new, European, reusable and sustainable launcher systems. Future topics such as life-cycle assessments of launcher systems and the impact of space emissions on the upper layers of the atmosphere are also included. The industrial company ArianeGroup is a strategic partner of space research at DLR. The two organisations have been working closely together for many years.
